The Splice Wash can be used to remove it with a soapy solution.

2. Apply Splice Wash to seam areas using clean cotton cloths until the surface is matte black.
Pay particular attention to factory seams and allow the treated surfaces to dry sufficiently.
The roofing membrane is clean when it has a uniform dark grey color, without streaks.
