The 1.0mm PVC pond liner is a homogeneous plastic sealing membrane based on plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC-P). It is very well suited for sealing ponds, natural swimming pools and water basins.

Due to its excellent properties, we offer a 10-year material warranty on PVC pond liners with a thickness of 1.0mm, 1.5mm or 2.0mm.

The material is resistant to roots and microorganisms and has a high resistance to aging. The plasticizers are UV-stabilized and DEHP-free.

We use Sikaplan WP5130-10H plastic sealing membranes from Sika Deutschland GmbH, Kornwestheimer Str. 103-107, 70439 Stuttgart (info@de.sika.com) as the base layer for our pond liner.

We join these 2m wide strips for you using an automatic hot wedge welding process to the width and length you require.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Lay out the fleece:Lay the protective fleece generously over the entire pond area with an overlap of at least 20cm.

2. Position the slide:Carefully unroll the pond liner and position it centrally over the pond basin. Leave at least 50 cm of overlap on all sides for later fastening.

3. Insert foil:Slowly lower the liner into the pit. Work from the center outwards, gently pressing the liner into all corners and steps. Avoid applying excessive tension.

4. Fold the pleats:For corners and curves, create neat folds instead of stretching the liner. Pond liner is very flexible and folds well.

5. Fastening:Secure the edge of the liner with stones, pond edging profiles, or ground anchors. The edge should extend at least 30 cm above the water level.

6. Add water:Fill the pond slowly with water. The weight of the water will allow the liner to adapt perfectly to the shape of the pond.

1.0mm PVC pond liner is extremely easy to care for and requires little maintenance. With proper care, the liner can last for 25 years or more.

🧹Regular care:
The PVC liner itself requires no special maintenance. However, regularly remove leaves, silt, and organic debris from the pond bottom to maintain water quality. Avoid sharp-edged tools when cleaning—use soft brushes or a pond vacuum instead. The liner is resistant to algae and bacteria, so no chemical cleaning agents are necessary.

❄ Winterize:
PVC liner remains flexible down to -20°C and requires no special winter protection. The pond can freeze over without any problems. However, ensure that no sharp objects are frozen in the ice, as these could damage the liner when it thaws. An ice preventer will prevent pressure damage caused by ice buildup.

🔧Repair and maintenance:
Should the liner become damaged, it can be easily repaired. Thoroughly clean the damaged area and simply apply a patch using special pond liner adhesive. Convenient repair kits are available in our accessories section. The repair is permanently waterproof. Even larger areas of damage can be repaired this way.

🌱 Extend lifespan:
To achieve maximum lifespan, protect the liner from mechanical damage caused by sharp objects. Use pond mats or gravel as a protective layer at the pond's edge. Avoid sharp objects in the treads if you walk around the pond wearing boots.

🧜🏼‍♀️PVC-Teichfolie ist eine abdichtende Folie, die vor allem für Gartenteiche, Teichanlagen oder Wasserbecken verwendet wird. Sie besteht aus Polyvinylchlorid (PVC), einem Kunststoff, der oft mit Weichmachern und Stabilisierungsmitteln versetzt wird, um Flexibilität, UV-Beständigkeit und Haltbarkeit zu erhöhen. PVC-Teichfolie ist robust, einfach zu verlegen und eignet sich für die sichere Abdichtung von Teichen, jedoch ist sie weniger dehnbar als EPDM-Folie.

PVC-Teichfolie hat mehrere Vorteile:

🔧Einfache Verarbeitung: Sie lässt sich leicht zuschneiden, formen und verschweißen.
💵Kostengünstig: Im Vergleich zu EPDM oder anderen hochwertigen Folien ist PVC oft preiswerter.
☀️Gute Beständigkeit: PVC ist widerstandsfähig gegenüber UV-Strahlung, Witterungseinflüssen und chemischen Zusätzen im Wasser.

👎🏼Nachteil im Vergleich zu EPDM: PVC ist weniger dehnbar und hat eine kürzere Lebensdauer, besonders bei extremen Temperaturen oder mechanischer Belastung.

PVC-Teichfolie lässt sich in der Regel einfach reparieren, wenn sie beschädigt ist.

So geht es:
🧹 Reinigung der beschädigten Stelle: Stelle und Umgebung gründlich von Schmutz, Algen oder Schlamm reinigen und trocknen lassen.
✂️ Zuschneiden eines Flicken: Einen passenden PVC-Flicken aus gleicher Folie zuschneiden – etwas größer als das Loch oder der Riss.
🧪Verkleben: Speziellen PVC-Kleber oder -Schweißmittel auf den Flicken und die Folie auftragen.
🏋🏼‍♂️Anpressen: Den Flicken fest auf die beschädigte Stelle drücken und nach Herstellerangaben aushärten lassen.
👁️Überprüfung: Nach der Trocknungszeit die Abdichtung auf Dichtigkeit prüfen.

⚠️ Hinweis: Für größere Schäden kann es sinnvoll sein, die gesamte beschädigte Bahn zu ersetzen, um langfristige Sicherheit zu gewährleisten.

Bei den meisten handelsüblichen PVC-Teichfolien gibt es keine festgelegte „Oben“- oder „Unten“-Seite – die Folie ist beidseitig verwendbar. Manche Folien haben jedoch eine glatte und eine leicht strukturierte Seite:

  • Glatte Seite: Oft sichtbar oder nach außen gerichtet.
  • Strukturierte Seite: Kann für besseren Halt auf Unterlagen wie Vlies oder Erdreich sorgen.

⚠️Hinweis: Bei Teichen empfiehlt es sich, die glatte Seite nach oben zu legen, besonders wenn sie direkt mit Wasser in Kontakt kommt, damit Schmutz leichter abgewischt werden kann und Pflanzen leichter zu pflegen sind.
